Introduction
It is not manditory that you memorize Endora's history, however, to keep a world going you must know the creation.  This information is for your enjoyment, and for your knowledge.

Four great periods of history cultivate Endora Island.  The Age of the Oracles, the Armageddon, the Second Coming and the Great Time.  However, now there is a new tide forming and the actions of today shall shape the future of tomorrow.
The Creation of Endora
In the beginning Endora was a point in the center of the universe.  Creation thrived and the people of the island lived a bounteous life.  The Gods, five supernatural beings, formed Endora Island into what it was what it is and what it will be.  Muriel, the Goddess of water, formed the ocean in swirls around the island, which was formed by Terra, the God of the earth.  Aire painted sunsets and sunrises, created storms and wonders of the sky while Fuero worked deep under the earth concocting fires.  While Vita, the God of all life established a formation of forests, grasslands and peoples to enjoy the work of the other four Gods.  He created the Elves, first, and then the humans, a somewhat lesser race and then the dwarves of whom he hid in the deepest mountains.

The people loved their Gods, but most of all, Vita, and he was praised far above all the other Gods.  In time, the cooperation of the Gods fell for the first time since creation and they began to make their own forms of life, known as the Oracles.
The age of the oracles
In the Age of the Oracles, much happened, but little is really known.  The Oracles were the wisest beings that walked upon Endora.  They had great knowledge and could wield massive power beyond imagination.  Flight, energy, technology, it was all under their command.  To this day, the ruins of their great cities can still be seen within the forests.  Within the mountains, their mines and centers stand but a mere shadow of their once former glory.  Their great sea ports lie in disrepair and abandonment along the shores.  These beings, created through jealousy by the Gods, evolved into something greater than humans, but something lesser than Gods.  It was this evolution that would strike them down and ultimately is their own downfall; nothing more than nature itself.   The Oracles were given this name from the lesser races.  They knew all of past and present and taught freely to spread knowledge to strike back at the opposing Gods who, realizing their dire mistake, were slowly stealing back their legacy and civilization.  One by one the Oracles slowly and mysteriously disappeared, and the lesser races of elves, dwarves and humans were left alone to learn and fend for themselves.
The Armageddon
The Armageddon was a war in the worst sense.  Simply a massacre by the Gods against united races who did not understand the reason for the holocaust.  The people retaliated by burning down the holiest places and destroying the temples in anger and frustration.  But the wrath of the Gods could not be stopped.  Was it not for the outcry of mercy amongst Vita, the God of Life during the Oracles’ most desperate hour; life on all of Endora would have ceased to exist.  The Gods finally explained their reasons in a somewhat high court, as their creation’s new evolution was immortality against old age.  They feared that with no enemies, the Oracles would become Gods themselves, and this xenophobic attitude led to the genocide of hundreds of thousands of innocent lives.  The Gods demanded one envoy to become a catalyst of both peace and the control of the Oracles.  Fearing complete extermination, the Oracles ceded to their demands and picked one Oracle to live forever, while the rest of the Oracles would fade away.  While this history may appear as a nightmare that would only end badly, the repression of the lesser races was lifted.  In their downfall of one race, three sprung up.  The Elves, the Humans and Dwarves soon grew, changed and evolved over much time.  This is known as the Second Coming of life upon Endora.  But while these races continued to grow and thrive, the Oracles faded into the past until they were all but forgotten except in legend and myth.  The legend of the Immortal One was soon brought about as a horror story to scare little children to behave.  The Oracles themselves were soon later idolized and seen as Gods themselves amongst the lesser races, especially Elves.  Their former cities and mines were then taken over by the Elves and Dwarves, while the Humans lived in their Ports. -- top
the second coming
The Second Coming refers to the continuation of life upon Endora.  A time in which a battle amonst the races errupted.  Races thought themselves to be greater than the rest and so resulted in another terrible punishment among the Gods.
The Dwarves, never ones for the open lands or the forests, took to the mountains and dug within to find valuables for trade and stayed to themselves for the most part.  The Elves, the closest race to the Oracles, were the most knowledgeable, but had seen the power of the Gods.  They have since been the most religious, restoring sites of faith and respecting all life.  Over time, their own superiority over humans led them to the belief that they are the greatest creation.  Humankind, paying tribute and respect to the God Vita, saw themselves shaped from the images of the Gods, considered themselves religiously superior, and soon, rivalry broke out.  First politically, then full out war ensued for centuries.

Eventually, all forgot what they were fighting for until a Dwarven miner stumbled upon an ancient research station, once run by the Oracles.  This new knowledge led to a new debate.  Who were these 3 races?  What other races exist now, or ever upon the island?  And how did they all get there?  So much information had been destroyed since the devastation of the Elven and Human capitals.  However, a dark shadow was now looming overhead the island.  City by city fell to this new foe that neither Elf; Dwarf, Human, or any other race could defeat.  And all who laid eyes upon the enemy had fallen.  The forests began to burn, the waters flowed with blood, the air was thick with smoke and debris and the fires of the mountains were cooled.  The cities lay in ruins and only death lay in the wake of it.  A single name rose in time as a myth, placing a name to fear, Dairyu Onikun.  But as soon as it appeared to start, it stopped.  What was this?  Who could this creature have been?  On the island’s most urgent time of need, prayers were answered and Dairyu Onikun left their Island.  No book, ledger, or account exists of his defeat, but it is assumed that it occurred, for his force went almost unchallenged.  -- top
The great time
Upon realizing that the Gods were most high and that no race ever truly held power, and for fear of the return of such evil again, the races, great or small upon the island banded together.  This was the beginning of the Great Time.  During this time, Elven knowledge was combined with human strength and Dwarven skill to rebuild and protect their homes.  Other races contributed new ideas and philosophies.  Intellect once again reigned.  Fear and terror subsided after generations past of the horrors of the Onikun Massacres had stopped.  Universal laws and roads were laid down across the island and Endora flourished.  The Elves and Dwarves backed into the shelter of their homelands while the Humans set up brighter than in the past.  The infighting had ceased and relations between the races flourished, however, uneasily.  The cities as you see them now, in their great splendor, were a marvel of new ideas, methods and technology combined with traditional knowledge.  The knowledge brought out of the new Universities leads to brighter futures.  Nevertheless, a darkness still lurks across the lands.  The Great Time of Endora, one of peace and tranquility, one of knowledge and peace, is about to end.  It is now up to the people of this generation to shape the island into what it should be.  These will be the chronicles of the New Age; where evil may return, links to the past may be uncovered, life might grow again, or history may repeat itself.  -- top
The five gods
Five Gods rule compassionately over Endora Island.  Most have lost faith in these Gods as it was seen as their fault for many of the destructive things that happened in Endora.  However, if you seek them, the Gods will come.
They work as five but are one part.  They are brothers and sisters with no father and no mother.  They have no form and do not take on as any life on the Island.  Although the Elves and Humans believe that they were created in the image of the Gods this is not true because the Gods have no image.  They have voice.

Goddess Muriel of Water.  Legend tells us that Muriel formed the materials that make up water.  She was the first of the Gods and Goddesses to put her talent to use and created the Ocean.  An extensive, calm, body of water from which God Terra formed the Island.

God Terra of Earth.  God Terra created the rock that formed the Island in the center of the large body of water that his sister Muriel had created.  He went down to the deepest depths of the ocean where water met space and created an ocean floor.  Slowly he built up the rock to form the islands and built further for the mountains.

Goddess Aire of the Sky.  Aire applied the next ingredient in the creation of Endora and the other islands.  She soared high above the Island and painted the air above it, giving Endora clouds and a beautiful blue sky.  With her breath she gave us wind.

God Fuero of Fire.  Fuero worked hard underneath the ground of Endora.  He concocted fires that would rival the sun, which was also created by himself.  Magma too hot to touch would give the island borders and form.

God Vita of Life.  Through examination of his sibling’s work Vita produced colour on the Island.  He established every bit of life.  Each tiny blade of grass to the wildest Dragon was carefully grown and perfected by him.  He made three distinct races and gave them personality and poise.  The Elves were the people he thought represented his sisters, Muriel and Aire.  The Dwarves were those he thought were represented by his brothers, Terra and Fuero.  The Humans were those with a mixture of them all.  He gave these three races an abundance of animals; plants and more and he and his siblings sat back and watched them.

For hundreds of years the races of Endora lived in harmony with one another until another race was formed, a superior God-like race called the Oracles.

It is said that the Gods became angry with one another (something like sibling rivalry) and the sky went black for one day while Terra, Muriel, Fuero and Aire created a race of their own, a race called the Oracles.   -- top
the oracles
The Oracles were in fact the highest species to form on Endora.  They were not a myth as some legends have put them, as we can clearly see from the ruins.  Their legacy was the start of our prospered existence today on Endora.  They were created by the Gods of water, fire, earth and air in a jealous bout against Vita, the God of life.

Although their fate is shrouded in mystery, it appears as though their creators themselves had destroyed them for their insolence or ill repute amongst them.  They became God-like and immortal.

Judging by the sheer volume of ancient cities, the Oracles must have been extremely well off.  No race has as of yet been able to restore a single building to its former glory.  One perplexing thought remains, in that all of the buildings appeared to crash from at least several floors up.  It is highly believed now that the Oracles’ buildings were built on spires and were elevated upwards.  One possibility for this observation is that the Oracles had wings with the ability to fly, while another theory states that they interconnected their cities.  No one will ever know for sure, but records of so called angels have appeared before, and it does coincide with the theory that Oracles somehow had wings.

The Armageddon, for which all life on Endora suffered from the sheer destruction, hit the Oracles hardest.  Insolence, a plague, or in fact as the legend goes, the Gods smote them in fear of their power being taken away from this up and rising race.  It is stated that creatures of shining black armor with feathered wings flew from the heavens to eliminate the Oracles.  But again, this is old theology and cannot be trusted for full truth.  Evidence lies in some massive craters found on the sides of cliffs, the small islet, and within the Elven capital where the land itself forms a gentle crater.  For whatever reason, no known Oracles are alive (except one) and no hard evidence exists to form a solid statement.    -- top
dairyu Onikun
Nothing but the blood spilled and the name of the individual who could overcome entire armies are known.  It is a dark spot upon Endora Island’s history.  The entity first swept across the desert beaches, leaving behind him a wake of demolished ancient ruins.  Sweeping across the Southern Coast, nothing was spared as the ports were burned to the ground.  No survivors were found.  In fact, all bodies missing were never found, and therefore assumed dead.  The path of Dairyu Onikun was erratic and evasive.  But one thing known was that he struck only heavily populated areas such as cities, centers, mines and ports.  Villages were safe from attack and so the inhabitants lived to tell the tale of far off civilizations disappearing in the blink of an eye.  The last peculiar activity he acted out was the complete destruction of all ancient buildings.  It is well known that the materials for such buildings are harder than most substances known at all.  Extremely strong and flexible, Oracle architecture was built around and on top of due to all efforts in Human, Dwarven and Elven demolitions.  As Onikun swept up the forests toward the mountains, it appeared as though the creature himself would soon be seen entering the caves, the last refuge of the peoples of Endora to destroy them.  But this was not to be.  The last known report of his disappearance was just hours away.  All remaining life hid inside the caves, praying that his wrath would be stopped, but his wrath never came.  Days passed at first, then a month, but nothing happened.  Months passed and still nothing happened.

Finally, after the anniversary of holdup in the mountains, the peoples came down again.  They rebuilt their cities over the rubble of the ancient buildings.  They re-cultivated the lands and re-manned the smithies.  But with so few races left, and little manpower, no one could hold wars like they had done so in the past.  In fact, the races banned together, forming fragile alliances and soon co-operations so their homes could be rebuilt for winter.  Over several years, it slowly came together and the races became united as one.  This new existence became known as the Great Time.   -- top
recorded human history
They have chosen who to worship, the God Vita.  They have ignored the other Gods for centuries.  It is unknown why this is fact but they have chosen to praise the God of Life rather than the Gods of the Earth as a whole.  Humans have also blessed themselves with individuality, for some choose not to worship any God, or to worship more than just God Vita.  It is said that this individuality allowed the Humans to emerge first out of the shadow of the past.

They came down, out of the mountains and other various make-shift townships to start over once Dairyu Onikun had vanished. They seperated and began rebuilding their cities.  They built on top of the destroyed remains, went back to their smithies and ports, slowly re-constructing the architechtural genius of the past.

They were the most heroic of the three surviving races, living for the remake of what was old.  They worshipped the heroes that emerged out of the rubble to rebuild cities and other places that had been left to distruction.  Life for the Human race continued much as it had before the Onikun Massacre.  They chose to rebuild and did not expand for the most part and five generations after the massacre they are far behind the Elves in terms of development.

After five generations, the massacre and wars of the past have been kept there.  The Humans have kept almost no record, unless they are secret and kept hidden within the King's confines, of the past and, therefore, are falling onto the same path that they had fallen on before.  The heros lead the way for the city dwelling Humans and the heroes lead them into pointless battles.  However, other Humans prefer to keep to themselves, like most of the small villiage dwellers who hold more entreprenueral skills and individual passions.

recorded elven history
Those who have not been born after the Massacre still remember those days as if they were yesterday. The Elves have a much more confined way of life.  Few Elves survived the Massacre as they lived in the biggest and most luxurious cities.  They had the mind and means to lead the wars and so, when Dairyu Onikun swept over their lands only those who were not at home live to tell the story, and those are the oldest and most sought after Elves in all of Endora.  The Elves with the most power over all other Elves are the leaders of their respective cities; Aithne, Laban, Neria.

They have turned their knowledge of weaponry and war into knowledge of the past, present and of the future.  They are a peaceful peoples for the most part but, if provoked, they will defend their rights, esspecially the people in the city Aithne, who have been known to hold prisoner those who step within the Yarkona Forest's boundaries.  Each of the cities of Elves hold their homes dear to them and protect them.  They have always been the race to worship all of the Gods equally, holding temples for all of them. They see the world seperate as a whole and treat it as such.

The massacre taught these immortal people what pain and hurt is all about and they live long enough to remember it and to tell it to their kin, who learn through horror stories, and the records that the Elves have kept.

In all, the Elves live a secluded life, they trade only what they need with the Humans, they never let anybody enter their forests for fear of a war and keep contact to a minimum.  They have not seen a Dwarf for centuries and they intend to keep it that way.

recorded dwarven history
Not even the Dwarves were safe from Dairyu Onikun's wrath.  Their two large cities were smashed down and many were killed as caves fell in.  The Dwarven casualty was the most horrendous and what is worse that, after they were able to carve their cities back to their original beauty, they have blamed the Elves for all that had happened.  They keep to themselves for the most part, but Humans and Elves alike fear that the Dwarves will try to rise up.
It is really unknown what this secretive race has been up to for the past centuries, but for the most part they have been underground, in their caves, mining what is valuable to them and protecting themselves from any attack that may ensue, though will not come.  -- top
